Signalling - General

There has been a system of signalling used in Queensland since the railways began in 1865 with many developments during the years that followed. Semaphore signals gave way to colour light signals in some areas however both are still used throughout the state. Within the colour light signalled areas there are also signs of various stages of development and changes continue to occur to meet the demands of the railway.
